The Big Bus hop-on hop-off open top sightseeing bus is one of the two dominant classic double decker open top sightseeing operations in Paris. The other operator is Tootbus Paris which we also detail on a dedicated page.
Since Tootbus took over Open-Tour Bus their old routes have changed and it now has a very similar route to Big Bus.
The routes both focus on central Paris so it becomes more of a question of price and running times when choosing which provider to use.
Big Bus offer discounted tickets if you buy in advance online. In addition if you use our Big Bus discount code you also gain an extra 10% off the online price, meaning a 20% saving overall from the walk-up value.
This quickly adds up to large savings for families and couples.
The Big Bus option has a main route of 11 stops covering all the major sightseeing attractions in the very centre of Paris including the Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysees, Notre Dame and the Louvre. This is supplemented by a shorter route that serves the Montmartre area, north of the city centre.
The Tootbus Paris alternative now has one main route shared by various tours. This has 10 stops including the Louvre, Eiffel Tower and Champs-Elysees.
Both have the option to add a River Seine cruise on to the bus ticket as an optional supplement.
Big Bus has 11 stops at strategic points close to the main places tourists want to visit. You can board at any point and hop on and hop off as many times as you like during the two day validity of the ticket. The main route is supplemented by a smaller route that interconnects with the main route and serves the Montmartre and Gare du Nord areas.
When you start your sightseeing Paris bus tour, you get a complimentary map of Paris to help you explore the city sights from the Arc de Triomphe to Notre Dame.
The Paris map includes the full colour route and stops, as well as details of the tour attractions.

If you don't hop off the main route takes approximately 2 hours 25 minutes to complete.
