Orly Airport Paris has a wide range of accommodation options from off airport low cost, budget chains to luxury hotels close to the airport.
Large modern chain hotels dominate the market with the French group Accor particularly well represented with their Ibis, Mercure and Novotel brands.
Like many large international airports, room rates tend to be significantly lower at the weekend when business custom is at a low.
Orly Airport has four passenger terminals all housed in one building. You can walk between them or use the Orlyval train or bus provided.
All the hotels we cover here have free hotel courtesy buses that service the terminals. Most of the major hotels operate these at 20-30 minute intervals from about 6am to late evening.
There are three hotels you can walk to the Terminal 4 (formerly South terminal) at Orly Airport from, all owned by the group Accor. Two ibis hotels will give you affordable rates even in peak season, ibis Paris Coeur d'Orly Airport, and very similarly named ibis Budget Paris Coeur d'Orly Airport. They are just a 5-minute walk to the the airport's terminal 4 via a moving walkway.
Likewise, the Novotel Paris Coeur d'Orly Airport is also set a just a 5-minute walk from Terminal 4. The Novotel would be classed as a mid-range hotel (with an enjoyable terrace and fitness centre), and is slightly more expensive than the ibis choices, but still representing good value.
The Orlyval shuttle provides easy connections for all the hotels to the other three Orly terminals.
None of these hotels is very expensive, and all offer competitive rates in line with hotels much further distances from Orly Airport.
Just north of Orly Airport in Paris is Rungis. It is most noted for its wholesale fresh produce market occupying a vast site, one of the world's largest. On the other side of the motorway/freeway is a cluster of hotels, some of which service nearby Orly Airport with regular shuttle buses.
All the hotels here are modern blocks belonging to large chains. There is little other than the hotels in the immediate facility, though there are local buses - none of which go direct to Orly Airport.
There are a couple of fast food outlets including a McDonald's.
Just to the south of Orly Airport is the town of Athis-Mons.
At the northern edge of the town by the airport boundary are two budget Orly hotels, the Kyriad and Orly Superior hotels offering budget accommodation and their own free shuttle services to the passenger terminals at Orly airport.
On your doorstep is a large Carrefour hypermarket open until late with almost anything you can need including a cheap cafe. Public buses pass the door regularly into the centre of town as well as to the airport.
So unlike the other hotels serving Orly Airport you are not very isolated and are not dependent on the hotel for food, drink and entertainment.
