There are many luxury hotels in Paris. Perhaps the only corporate global chain with a similar offering targeted at the top of the luxury sector is Sofitel Hotels, owned by the French Accor Group. We have a separate dedicated page for Sofitel properties.
The core Marriott and Renaissance hotels offer some properties in locations which are A1 for leisure visitors, with four properties on and around the famous Champs-Elysees and Arc de Triomphe.
What to expect from Marriott Paris hotels?
Another Marriott hotel, the Marriott Opera Ambassador, is located in the centre of the city (the Champs-Elysees is to the west of the city centre). This is close to the main shopping area with the famous department stores. You are also within walking distance of the Louvre.
The Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel & Conference Centre is well outside the premium hotel district in which the hotels mentioned above are located. It is a 20-minute ride on the Metro from the hotel to the Champs-Elysees but for this small inconvenience you are rewarded with room rates probably at least half that if you stayed in the central hotels. You will also be rewarded with a more authentic Parisian neighbourhood than the international culture around the Champs-Elysees.
Another choice worth checking out if you want a luxury full service hotel and have one eye on the wallet is the Renaissance Paris La Defense Hotel. La Defense is a major business district of Paris out west of the centre. The Metro links and faster RER trains will still get you into the centre in 20 minutes.
As a business district at weekends and holiday periods (think all of August), hotels struggle to fill their rooms and rates at weekends can be very appealing.
